
Alina Morris specializes in domestic and international trademark counseling, clearance, filing, prosecution, registration, maintenance, enforcement, defense, and portfolio management. A former Trademark Examining Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Alina leverages her unique “insider” expertise with the trademark application and registration process to help clients register and protect their marks. Alina also handles disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, copyright matters, domain name disputes, licensing, and business agreements.
Prior to joining Invicta, Alina was as an associate at Knobbe Martens Olson and Bear LLP, the third largest intellectual property law firm in the U.S., and was also part of Amazon.com, Inc.’s intellectual property legal team as corporate counsel. Alina has substantial experience serving the business needs of clients of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to startups, individuals, and non-profits, across a broad range of industries, including software, e-commerce, publishing, medical devices and pharmaceuticals, energy drinks, and apparel.
During law school, Alina served as Executive Articles Editor for the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal and was an active participant in the Law Revue Show three years running, including in roles as Executive Producer, Skit Director, “Legolas,” and “ensemble.” Alina also won first prize in the 2003 Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) for her student note entitled Copyright and Musical Improvisation: A Balance between Legal Protection and Promoting the Creative Process Requires Maintaining the Current Scheme.
Alina is admitted to practice in Washington, California, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. She is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and currently a member of the Madrid System Subcommittee of INTA’s Trademark Office Practices Committee. A dedicated supporter of the American Inns of Court, Alina has participated in the Intellectual Property Inns of Court in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, as well as in Seattle. Alina is also a member of the King County Bar Association.
