Steve Edmiston, Of Counsel

team_steve_edmistonSteve Edmiston boasts 18 years of expertise in commercial litigation, business law, licensing, venture financing and intellectual property protection. More importantly—and more interestingly—for his clients, Steve has substantial entrepreneurial experience. He was co-founder and president of Front Porch Classics, creator of classic “coffee table games,” such as Dread Pirate, Old Century Stretch Run and Master & Commander.

Before joining Invicta, Steve managed the Company’s trademark, copyright and licensing portfolio including Sony’s Game Show Television Network, Major League Baseball and 20th Century Fox, and guided the company through venture capitalization and negotiating deals for distribution with Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, Amazon.com and Toys-R-Us.
“Having run a venture-backed business, I’ve become a far better counselor,” he says. “I understand the challenges growing businesses face and I’m proactive about how to launch, market and protect creative ideas.”

Steve himself has developed several award-winning games, and has written three screenplays that have been produced as independent feature films. He has also served as a producer for several feature and short film projects.

“I’ve walked in my client’s shoes—in the business world, I’ve probably made some of the same mistakes they have,” he says. “I can protect them from similar missteps, so they can achieve the success their ideas and talents deserve.”
